GTMHA wanted to pass on some updates to let you all know what has been happening this summer.

We all know the 2020-2021 hockey season is going to look different from what it has been in the past, to what extent we do not know.  We must follow the guidelines from Dr Bonnie Henry and the Provincial Health authority, BC Hockey and our arena facilities.  We want to make the rink a safe place for the children, coaches and parents.

GTMHA has been sitting in on several meetings with BC Hockey, West Kootenay hockey as well as meeting with our area facilities.

At this time it appears that we will only be allowed 1 team on the ice at one time so this has totally changed up our ice scheduling formats.  For the first bit we might have to have practices on the weekend in lieu of games to start off.  We anticipate getting back on the ice in October but changes might happen if there is no green light from BC Heath Authorities

West Kootenay is hopeful to have a season but rest assured it will be a delayed start.

Our next payment for registration was scheduled to go out September 15 but we are pushing that to be October 15.  You do not need to do anything this will all happen on our end with the Hockey Canada site.  Our U7 - (initiation division) registration has been delayed in getting out we are just putting the final details on it, with a expected launch mid September.

For those that are wanting to help coach this year, there will be an extra online course that everyone must take for the Covid situation.  This is just being developed by Hockey Canada now.  We are asking that you please send in your coaching application now so we can make sure all credentials are up to date and we don't have any last minute searches.  All forms can be found on our website www.gtmha.com

If you have any questions you can email gtmhahockey@gmail.com and someone will get back to you.

Lets do our part in keeping Covid numbers down.

Stay safe.

Thank you
GTMHA
